That is indeed very puzzling, and I have no explanation for it, but I can point out one thing I see in the screen shots that you may want to fix.

I would guess that you are using Normal style for your text and have added a first-line indent to that style. This has had the result that your Footnote Separator is also indented. This is one reason why it’s generally preferable to use Body Text or in this case Body Text First Indent for the base body style and leave Normal alone, but you can correct this.

This will open a Footnotes pane with a dropdown list box. In that box, choose Footnote Separator and modify its paragraph to remove the first-line indent.

I am facing an issue with Print Layout view. The document can be shown in Web layout view , readmode, draft and outline, but not print layout view. Anyone know the reasons? This is a template I used for a long time for years.

It consists of a multilevel list, standard header and footer, list of tables and list of figures. The issue was found yesterday and I spent hours in troubleshooting it. The problem will not come immediately in print layout view, it disappeared after several easy editing jobs has been done in the document.

When click on other view other than print layout view , it is able to show. I tried the same document which consists of this issue in Microsoft Word and It does not have any issue My word version is Microsoft Office Therefore, I suspect it is not a document issue but an application issue.

I used the same document template in my current workstation without issue for years, but the issue just happened yesterday. I tried to save as version. This does not help. When I opened the document, the pages disappeared straight away as compared to.

My current workaround is working on the document in Microsoft Word I just felt a little bit clueless on Microsoft word.

My issue has not been resolve yet. But I found a workaround with it. Everytime I edit Header or Footer , the error might come. So now if i did not touch the Header and Footer, it is fine now. I tried your method. At first, it works perfectly, the error frequency is reduced. But im not sure why it came after several editing. Let me dig out more and post here again.
