Davangere is now the focal point of Karnataka state politics because of the recently held Youth conventions across the state a formation of a force of young leaders who are attracting the attention of national leaders.
The Young Leader from Davangere have been Making Noise at the National level recently and the name of Syed Khalid Ahmed, who is the National Secretary, of the Indian Youth Congress is Prominent. He is an Engineering Graduate who was interested in law and has also obtained a Law Degree.
His Father Syed Saifulla is one of Siddaramaiah’s Close Aids and an Influential leader of the district. With his father’s political experience and advice, He is advancing at the National level with his hard work and dedication to politics on his strength.
He started his political career by actively participating in the Student Congress elections and was inclined toward politics as a student. In later days, he became an active member of the Youth Congress, and due to his experience in his educational institution, he established Qisma Foundation and engaged in social service and is also serving as Joint Secretary, Millath Educational and Welfare Society (R.,), where more than 5000 Downtrodden and weaker Section children of Davangere and Chitradurga districts are getting Education. With all these experiences, he has continuously rendered his service in this organization with various honourable posts like President, Secretary, Joint Secretary, etc.
Khalid has also Founded a non-politically NGO “KSS Foundation”, along with his close friends, which has provided many unique experiences and an opportunity to always serve the public. He undertook many social works on behalf of this organization and became known as a good social worker and an environmentalist.
In 2010, He became active in politics and was elected as Booth President from Davangere South assembly constituency, and since then, he has never looked back politically. Soon he became famous as a young Congress leader. Seeing his dedication and Commitment many responsibilities came his way after his performance, including the 2017 Goa Election as Coordinator. Later he was given incharge of Other States like Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Delhi, Kerala, Gujarat, and various Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies. With these opportunities, he becomes a known face in State as well as Nation.
Meanwhile, in the Year 2017, he contested for the post of Davangere District Youth Congress President and was Elected as the District President with the thumping majority with support of Youth from all 8 Assembly Constituencies of Davangere. During his tenure, he organized the members of the Youth Congress in the district and brought about many changes in the system, and promoted them to become young leaders in the district.
He has played an important role in the District Youth Congress to grow in an organized manner and also Identified youth workers & leaders. Be it in organising various rallies, protests, blood donation camps, Voter enrollment camps, awareness campaigns, and a lot more, he has always shown enthusiasm and energy.
He has been identified as a Young Congressman with Similar efficiency and party loyalty and was appointed as the National Coordinator of, Indian Youth Congress I/C Tamil Nadu in the Year 2019.
Later in the 2021 Karnataka Youth Congress Elections, He Contested for the Post of State President, with the support of eventful leaders and youth, secured 4th position, and was elected as the General Secretary, KPYCC. He was given organisational responsibility as the Office Admin and also took over the responsibility of some Districts as Incharge. During the Corona pandemic, he served the people of the district for months by providing Oxygen Cylinders, food and water, and other various necessities to District Hospitals, the Police Department, labourers, and needy people who were suffering from a lack of essentials. All these developments were noticed by National President and State Incharges and he was called for an interview in Delhi for the post of National Office Bearer. After clearing 3 rounds of interviews, on the Approval of then Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi ji and with recommendations of IYC President BV Srinivas and Krishna Allavaru, Syed Khalid Ahmed was Appointed as National Secretary of the Indian Youth Congress.
He was given responsibility for Telangana State as Incharge. He has played an important role in the ongoing historic Bharat Jodo Yatra and walked with Sri Rahul Gandhi.
As an Incharge, he is motivating Youth Office Bearers and workers of Telangana Youth Congress and Home State Karnataka.
Now his name is doing rounds again as he has applied for MLA Ticket from Prestigious Davangere South Constituency as a strong aspirant for the upcoming 2023 Assembly Election. With Blessings & Support from the people of His constituency, if given the opportunity by the party he may emerge victorious.
